With summer here, I will be taking a break from posting for a while. In the meantime, I will be leading a couple of courses for the Beautiful Teaching company: “A Mimetic Approach to Poetry” (on July 11th and 27th) and “Teaching History Classically” (on July 13th and 25th). It would be great to have some of the readers from this site join me.
I understand you are running a "Teaching Historically Classically" session for an Australian audience in October. I am very interested in signing up for that session. I've been a teacher for ten years in Australia. I teach Indonesian but my main qualification is Humanities and Social Science, with a specialisation in History. I recently came across the idea of Classical Christian Education via a non-teacher friend whose friend is a principal of a CCE micro-school in our city. I find the concept very intriguing and resonates with my idea as a Christian and a teacher very much. Sadly I don't know how one could get some training in CCE pedagogy around here, though. I understand there are some summer courses in the United States.
Anyway, I just thought I'd introduce myself and I look forward to joining in the session in October.
